Day in the Life of a GLA Student

Thurday of GLA Day in the Life2

Global Leadership Adventures offers 10-Day, 14-Day, and 21-Day teen travel programs during Spring Break and Summer. Here's what a typical week of the GLA experience might look like:

Weekday Mornings
In the mornings, students will work on a meaningful community service project in their new community. The service projects vary by program, but might include building a school, tutoring children, or working to protect the environment.

Weekday Afternoons
In the afternoons, soak up the ins-and-outs of your new surroundings. Students will participate in different activities and engage in hands-on learning about the social, historical, and cultural context of their new country.  These activities might include language classes, meetings with grassroots leaders, guided walks in the rainforest, scuba diving through coral reefs, or a Kung Fu class!

Weekday Evenings
At night, unwind after action-packed days with great food, new friends, and opportunities for discussion and reflection. Group directors lead the students in discussing, reflecting on, and processing what they've learned.

Weekends
On the weekends, go on longer excursions to discover more of the country. These are often highlights of the program and allow students to connect with one another on a fun adventure!  Come face-to-face with the Taj Mahal in India, hike to Machu Picchu in Peru, or climb The Great Wall in China.
